HOOPS KNOCK ON DOOR WITH MORE OF SAME

THERE was a slightly strange sight before kick-off at Celtic Park on Saturday with a door spotted in a corner of the pitch.

The picture became a little clearer when famous Hoops supporting actor Martin Compston appeared through it, surrounded by a camera crew.

Quite what the Line of Duty star was filming is being kept under wraps but, once the action on the field got under way, it was similar to watching a rerun of so many matches in the Premiership this season.

And it's why the next door opening at Parkhead again will be the one to a stuffed trophy cabinet.

Celtic have hit an average 2.97 goals a game we'll call it three - in their league encounters this season and here was another treble to maintain that average.

Opportunity knocked for Hearts a few times early on but the Hoops slammed the door shut in their faces to have the points locked up by half-time.

It was classic Celtic, with Daizen Maeda scoring after tearing through on goal, Jota being awake while defenders dozed, and Maeda poking in from close range after Nicolas Kuhn hit the byline. The fans have seen it before and love it.

Celtic shook off the shock of losing to Rangers in the derby before the international break with a rerun of a familiar show.

In fairness to Hearts, they tried something different. It was either bold or daft, depending how you view it.
