Grooming gang victim demands inquiry in Scotland

Woman was targeted while living in Glasgow care home

A VICTIM of a Glasgow child grooming gang has written to John Swinney to demand a national inquiry in Scotland.

The Scottish Government has been resisting calls to set up a probe similar to the one announced earlier this year for England and Wales.

Yesterday, Justice Secretary Angela Constance told MSPs there was still not enough evidence that such an inquiry was necessary. But her position has been undermined by the letter to the First Minister from the young Scottish woman, Taylor (not her real name).

She said: “Nothing has been done to protect vulnerable children in Scotland. It is clear that it is still happening.”
