PEP GUARDIOLA toasted a fifth straight win in all competitions then urged Manchester City's new generation to become legends of the club.

- BY JOHN CROSS

Top scorer Erling Haaland struck twice while Phil Foden was also on target as City avenged their FA Cup Final loss to Crystal Palace to move two points off the English Premier League summit.

Guardiola then sent a warning to title rivals Arsenal and Aston Villa by insisting City will get even better.

He believes their new-look team can be just as successful as the one that dominated in the days of Kyle Walker and Vincent Kompany.

City boss Guardiola said: “We are improving, new players came along and adapted many things. My only dream as a manager is be ourselves all the time.

“Perform like we are working and talking and doing. This is the reason why we had Vincent, we had Kyle. All the players who have been legends in this club had the composure. I had the feeling that we are getting better and this is what we want to feel.
