IT'S TIME our country got back to celebrating success. We should be championing and rewarding those who are brilliant enough to be able to convert an idea into a business, make money and employ people. If we're ever to get this country back as an economic powerhouse, it's essential we shake off this nasty, socialist mindset that sees wealth creators as people to be ashamed of, and their businesses as a cash cow for the state to squeeze with ever larger tax bills.

Over the weekend, the UK's highest taxpayers over the last year were revealed. The top 100 taxpayers in the UK paid £5.7billion in tax. The average taxpayer pays £7,000 a year, so those 100 people were the equivalent of 823,000 taxpayers the size of two large UK cities.
