Flu cases are three times higher than this time last year, so the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is urging everyone eligible for a free vaccination to take them up.

Experts say flu season has arrived a month earlier than it normally does, with NHS bosses saying this is largely due to a spike among school-age children. Duncan Burton, chief nursing officer for England, sys: "Flu circulation in children normally precedes that in adults - so those eligible should come forward for a vaccine as soon as possible. The flu virus changes every year, so it’s important to get a jab annually to ensure yours and your families’ protection and to reduce the spread.
