FIRST Minister John Swinney will travel to Rome to attend the funeral of Pope Francis on Saturday, along with national leaders and heads of state.

Prince William and Sir Keir Starmer will represent the UK, alongside the likes of Donald Trump, Emmanuel Macron and Volodymyr Zelensky.

Mr Swinney, who is due to fly to Rome today, said: "His Holiness Pope Francis was a voice for peace, tolerance and reconciliation who had a natural ability to connect with people of all ages, nationalities and beliefs.
