FAI to probe water sport deaths of man and boy, 12

Inquiry into drownings almost five years apart

A JOINT Fatal Accident Inquiry (FAI) is to be held into the deaths of a schoolboy and a man who drowned in separate incidents nearly five years apart.

Kayden Walker was 12 years old when he died during a day trip with a community group in Perthshire.

He had been “boogie-boarding” — where the participant lies prone on a surf board to ride waves - when tragedy struck on the River Tay, near the village of Stanley on July 28, 2019.

Kayden, from the Bridgeton area of Glasgow, drowned after becoming separated from his board and trapped on the upstream side of a weir.
