PANEL'S alternative diagnoses on 17 babies who were the subject of Letby's trial...

Baby 1 (Child A): The prosecution said the boy was murdered by injecting air into his bloodstream. The panel cited thrombosis, where a blood clot forms in a vessel.

Baby 2 (Child B): Letby tried to kill Child A's twin sister in the same way, lawyers said. The panel again blamed thrombosis.

Baby 3 (Child C): Jurors heard the boy was murdered by air forced down his feeding tube. The panel cited ineffective resuscitation after an unrecognised "acute small bowel obstruction".

Baby 4 (Child D): Rather than the girl being murdered by injecting air, experts concluded she died of systemic sepsis, pneumonia and blood clotting.

Baby 5 (Child E): The Crown said Letby murdered the boy with an injection of air and deliberately caused bleeding. The panel blamed the bleeding on a lack of oxygen before birth or a congenital blood vessel condition.
