Weekend goal hero Lazetic tipped for Conference call

NICKY DEVLIN has backed Aberdeen striker Marko Lazetic to take his good form into the European arena following his moment of magic at the weekend.

The 21-year-old Serbian lit up Paisley with a stunning solo effort in injury time to score the only goal of the Premiership game against St Mirren.

All but one of Lazetic's seven appearances since arriving from AC Milan in mid-August have come off the bench.

His solitary start in Jimmy Thelin's side came in their Conference League opener when Shakhtar Donetsk visited Pittodrie on October 2.

And ahead of tomorrow's tricky tie against AEK Athens in the Greek capital on matchday two, full-back Devlin reckons the calibre of fixture can bring the best out of his young colleague.

The 32-year-old said: "I'm pretty sure a big part of Marko coming to the club would have been for nights like the Shakhtar game.
