Emotional rollercoaster

ONE of the reasons I'd be rubbish on Gogglebox is I don’t watch TV the right way.

Not the right way for a Goggleboxer, that is. I don’t pull faces, for example. Nor do I gasp, scream, gesticulate or do any of that other exhaustingly performative stuff the Gogglebox pundits are contractually obliged to do, playing to the camera for all its worth.

So imagine my surprise when, as I watched a preview of a show going out tonight, I found myself making a succession of squealing noises. That, and crying: “Oh, my God! No! No!”
