Drey: First-touch Dee goal all Wright by me
Scottish Daily Express

DREY WRIGHT made the perfect start to his Dundee career — as he scored direct from a corner in a 2-0 friendly victory at Arbroath on Saturday.
The versatile player swapped relegated St Johnstone for Dens Park 18 days ago.
Wright came on at half-time at Gayfield and, with his first touch of the ball, curled the opener into the back of the net in the 48th minute.
He was delighted to make an instant impact but was first to admit that he didn’t mean to send his inswinging corner kick into the net.
Trialist Tommy McDermott, who has since been recalled by Burnley, netted the second 20 minutes later to seal an opening win for Steven Pressley’s side.
Wright said: “As far as first touches go, I will take that.
“It was never meant, as you can see by the sheer luck of it and my reaction.
“It was nice to get us off the mark. In a friendly, it is important to get the first goal and to get off the mark, personally.”
It would have been no surprise to learn that windy gusts from the North Sea played a big part inWright’s goal.
He added: “It was discussed pregame, although not so much as putting it in the back of the net.
