Pittodrie defender Mats insists they owe the Red Army a big away day after the gubbing in
MATS KNOESTER admits Aberdeen owe the travelling Red Army a Europa League performance in Cyprus.
The Dons are still reeling from their 6-0 thumping away to AEK Athens last time out.
Knoester knows the team let themselves and the fans down and they want to give them some payback by shocking high-flying AEK Larnaca.
The centre-half said: "We owe the supporters after the last game, we owe them a better performance.
"We owe the fans but also ourselves because it wasn't like us. We can do way better if you look at our team and our quality.
"This is an opportunity to show ourselves in a good way, everyone feels the same."
Aberdeen have kept three clean sheets in the last four and if they could transfer that to Europe then it would give them a fighting chance.
Former Feyenoord stopper Knoester insisted: "I don't see a reason why we can't get a result, if we learn from last time and do things better.
"Against Kilmarnock we showed we're a totally different team. Of course this is a new game but in terms of mentality it was a much better example.
"We've shown after a few hits that we can come back as a team, stay together and get a result."
