DAVID GRAY admits Hibs will have their work cut out after being drawn with Midtjylland in the Europa League.

- By Darren Johnstone

The Leith outfit travel to Denmark for the first leg of the second qualifying round clash on July 24 before hosting the return tie a week later.

Midtjylland only missed out on back-to-back league titles by a point last season and competed in the Champions League group stages as recently as the 2020-21 campaign.

Anderlecht, Shakhtar Donetsk and Sheriff Tiraspol were among the other seeded teams Hibs could have landed and boss Gray concedes the draw has not been kind to them.

He said: "I think it's one of the tougher opponents but because of the position we've found ourselves in being unseeded you're always going to get a tough draw.

"So the other side to looking at is it's a brilliant game you're going to test yourself in.

"They're a very good side, second in the league last season, missed out by a point.
