Constance mocked over 'more jails boost crime'

THE Scottish Government’s Justice Secretary has been ridiculed for claiming the SNP don’t want to build any more jails as it encourages more crime.

Angela Constance has now announced three separate schemes to release prisoners early to curb overcrowding. But prison officers have warned this is just a short-term solution and jails are getting more dangerous to oversee.

Emergency laws will see more than 1,000 lags serving sentences of four years and under let out early in the next eight months.
