Inisherin may race over seven furlongs for the first time at York

INISHERIN faces a first attempt at seven furlongs for the Group 1 City Of York Stakes at next month's Ebor Festival after his dramatic last-minute scratching from Saturday's July Cup at Newmarket.

Trainer Kevin Ryan cut a visibly frustrated figure after a spread plate at the start of the six-furlong Group 1 triggered the Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum-owned colt's withdrawal on veterinary advice.
