China threatens consequences if super-embassy plan is blocked

CHINA is behaving like a “hostile state” by threatening “consequences” if Britain does not let it build a super embassy in London, an expert has warned.

A decision on the controversial building application for the former Royal Mint site has been pushed back to December 10, ministers confirmed.

But Beijing reacted with fury, declaring that the UK should “immediately fulfil its obligations and honour its commitments, otherwise the British side shall bear all consequences”.

Former security minister Tom Tugendhat said: “China has spied on Parliament, attacked dissidents, threatened Hong Kongers, stolen technology, collapsed businesses.
