Thelo insists Gers are only going one way with bonds formed through adversity making them super-strong
THELO AASGAARD didn't quite roll out the old cliche that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
But when it comes to assessing this current Rangers side it's a pretty good description of their Premiership journey so far.
Because let's get it right. Under Russell Martin at the start of this campaign, the club's title aspirations looked dead and buried. Languishing in the bottom half of the table, out of the Champions League and toiling in Europe full stop, there were no signs of life down Edmiston Drive.
But Martin's successor Danny Rohl has somehow resuscitated Rangers.
And as Aasgaard weighs up the race for the league flag, he's adamant they're only going to get stronger between now and May.
The Norway international believes surviving the trials and tribulations they endured under Martin has brought players together.
He now senses an unbreakable bond within Rohl’s dressing room that might just, miraculously, make them Scottish champions.
It was their sheer resilience and determination that got them a first European win of the season against Ludogorets on Thursday night.
Midfielder Aasgaard had a vital hand in Mohamed Diomande’s winner and now his focus is back on domestic duty, with Dundee up next in Govan tomorrow.
With title rivals Hearts and Celtic facing off at Tynecastle, it could be a pivotal moment for Gers.
