JOHN McGLYNN described Scott Bain extending his contract until June 2028 as "huge news" for Falkirk, who have also agreed a deal to sign Newcastle striker Ben Parkinson.

Parkinson, 20, will join on a permanent basis having made just one senior outing for the Magpies. Keeper Bain, 34, arrived last summer on a one-year deal after falling down the pecking order at Celtic.

"To say we're pleased to have signed Scott Bain (above) on a longer-term contract would be an understatement," said McGlynn.
