THE REPAIR SHOP ON THE ROAD (BBC1, 8pm) still dispenses the same uplifting vibes of the barn-based series, so we are along for the ride during its summer travels.

Tonight, metalworker Dominic Chinea, paintings restorer Lucia Scalisi and furniture restorer Will Kirk head to Scotland to fix neglected heirlooms and attractions in need of love.

Lucia volunteers to go straight to the top of the 225ft-high spire of medieval Glasgow Cathedral to help blacksmith Stacey and apprentice Jameel clean up and fix its weathervane. Then she faces the challenge of restoring a Chinese bamboo and paper mask belonging to Kaming, a member of Glasgow’s Hakka Chinese community.
