Spiders take boost from Accies'plight

Queen's Park caretaker boss Steven MacLean says a 0-0 draw at crisis-hit Hamilton Accies can give his young side a major boost, as they head to high-flying Ayr United on Saturday.

The draw at New Douglas Park halted a run of nine straight defeats for the Spiders, while Ayr were surprisingly thumped 5-0 by Livingston last Friday night.

There weren't many chances for either side, but young Timam Scott had shots well saved by keeper Dean Lyness, and MacLean felt they could have had at least one penalty.

MacLean hailed his young stars, and says they will learn from it.

He said: "It's a massive point, and to halt the run, but I know Scott Brown and Steven Whittaker, they will be coming out swinging, because they got a doing.
