New Spiders boss promises to bring attractive football back

New Queen’s Park boss Sean Crighton is looking to rebuild the club and play attacking, attractive football next season, and says continuity at the club is important.

Crighton, 35, steps up from his role as assistant to interim coach Steven MacLean, and ‘B’ team coach at the Spiders before that, and knows the players and club inside out.

While this is his first managerial role, Crighton has been coaching since he was 20 and has experience at Airdrie, Morton and Hamilton.

Crighton will start in earnest on June 12 when pre-season starts, and has four games lined up already.

He told club media: “It feels amazing. It's now an honour to be the head man, and I'm really looking forward to getting started.

“I think it’s important for the club to have a bit of continuity and me being here, taking the ‘B’ team allows that, but I do think that’s massive for the players and everybody around the club that they have somebody that they know and can trust.

“I have the young players’ trust, and they'll trust me, in terms of the process, and if they’re ready they will be in.
