Youngsters push for league & cup double

RUNCORN Linnets Under 21s were crowned as champions of North West Development League's Championship Division B on Tuesday - without kicking a ball!

Kidsgrove Athletic's 2-1 home defeat by Warrington Rylands mean that Linnets cannot now be caught at the top of the table.

The club have has sent its congratulations to manager Ste Ellams, his right hand men Daryl Evans and John Harrison and, of course, the players who have performed so well over the season.

There could yet be another trophy to come for the young guns.

Champions at the first time of asking, after their pre-season renaissance, Linnets U21s can complete a double ahead of their final league game next Wednesday (May 7th) when Northwich Victoria visit APEC Taxis Stadium.
