Groups boosted by PPC's fund

MORE than 40 community groups across Cheshire are celebrating a share of £150,000 from Dan Price, Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner's community fund.

His SWAP Fund - Safety, Working Together, Action and Prevention was originally set at £100,000 but after attracting nearly three times as many applications as the previous round he decided to increase it to £150,000.

It supports grassroots projects tackling issues such as antisocial behaviour, wellbeing and inclusion.

In Chester, Lache Junior FC will expand activities for children through football, homework and games sessions, while Hoole Community Development Trust and Chester Unit 79 Sea Cadets are also among the recipients.
