Trial jury is told of horror attack at farm
A MUM told a 999 operator her three-year-old had been "ripped to pieces" after he was attacked by two dogs at a farm, jurors have heard.
Daniel Twigg died after a dog attack at Carr Farm on Tunshill Lane, Rochdale, on May 15, 2022.
His parents Mark Twigg and Joanne Bedford, of King Street, Radcliffe, both deny manslaughter and offences under the Dangerous Dog Act.
A trial began at Manchester Crown Court on Monday.
A jury was told Daniel, aged three, suffered "severe damage" to his neck in the incident and later died from his injuries, having "suffered massive internal and likely plentiful external bleeding".
Prosecutors said Daniel entered a pen before being attacked by two dogs named Sid and Tiny, which each weight around '50kg'.
Jurors previously heard Mr Twigg and Ms Bedford had a "long association" with Carr Farm on Tunshill Lane, Rochdale, which belonged to Matthew Brown, Daniel's godfather.
Mr Twigg was an "odd job man" and worked for Mr Brown, it was said.
The family had been living there since Mr Brown was remanded to prison after his partner "complained about him", jurors earlier heard.
