ALWAYS held in high regard, the sparingly raced Powerandtheglory hit winning ways in his last run in good style. Hopefully, now in a racing routine and confidence up, he can go back-to-back when he runs in race 7 over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth today.

The fact that he won his last run over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last month is most encouraging. He has always been thought of as a horse who was coming into his wheelhouse over the middle distance range. The race was run to suit because the pace was hot and he was allowed to run at them in the closing stages. He hit the line with plenty in hand, running down the promising three-year-old Black Eagle, giving 6kgs.

This is his third run after a six-month rest so fitness is now truly on his side. Gavin Lerena steps back aboard him for trainer Justin Snaith. Most of his rivals in this race have it all to do at the ratings or they are likely to need their runs.
