HEARTBREAKING details have surfaced in the Western Cape High Court as the trial for the alleged killers of Pinelands businessman Previn Pillay commenced, nearly five years after his brutal murder.

Man’s alleged killers plead not guilty

The trio, comprising Riefaat Loofer, Glenville Jansen, and Franklin van Niekerk, pleaded not guilty to the grisly crime in which the 29-year-old was decapitated and his mutilated body discovered in a suitcase.

Pillay, well-known in the local community, was last reported seen on December 23, 2020, leaving his home in Pinelands in his white Toyota Hilux bakkie. The vehicle has since vanished, although pieces of it have surfaced - the bumper was located in Sunbird Park.

The investigation took a turn a week later when police were alerted to a gruesome find at Hazendal train station in Athlone.
