This vital initiative emphasises the need for urgent progress in achieving gender equality, a cause that has seen innumerable courageous women leading the charge throughout history.
Reflecting on the contributions of remarkable figures like Amina Cachalia, Ida Mntwana, Annie Silinga, Ruth First, Rahima Moosa, Helen Suzman and several other women, we are reminded of the important role they played in the fight for our freedom by standing their ground as they demonstrated against the apartheid government, and advocated for justice and equality.
