Na 19 jaar by die Hervormde Kerk Welgelegen-Pietersburg-kerkkantoor het Annatjie Sandrock onlangs afgetree.
Sy erken dat sy nie veel van haar eerste dag onthou nie. "Ek onthou wel dat dit onwerklik en vreemd gevoel het. Ek sou aanvanklik nie aansoek gedoen het vir die pos van sekretariële beampte nie. My man, Robbie, en my huweliksbelofte was dat ek sou ophou werk sodra ons 'n gesin sou hê en dit sou bly tot almal uit die skool is. Die predikant het my egter onverwags genader en gevra of ek belangstel. My jongste kind was nog net ses maande in gr. 12. Ek het vir die onderhoud gegaan en tot my verbasing het ek die werk gekry," vertel sy.
