W'burg's Allister earns spot at football academy

"Little did I know when I laced up my first pair of soccer boots at the age of seven, that I would get a full bursary to train at an internationally recognised soccer academy," said Allister Jacobs (24) who was signed by Balderstone Sports Institute (BSI) Football Academy on October 15.
Allister, from Westenburg, saw the online post about BSI trials and knew he had to seize the opportunity. "When I got in, I was so excited, words cannot describe it," he said. Being selected, he added, is an amazing opportunity that could open doors internationally. "Should this happen, it would be my biggest dream come true, as I have always hoped to play for FC Barcelona."
