CDM hosts urban risk workshop

The Capricorn District Municipality hosted a three-day urban risk-informed development workshop from last Tuesday to Thursday at the CDM council chamber. The event brought together municipal officials, partners and representatives from the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction to advance a comprehensive disaster risk strategy for the district.

The event aimed to strengthen local capacity to identify, assess and manage urban risks while aligning district plans with the UN's Making Cities Resilient 2030 framework.
Participants explored practical approaches to integrating disaster risk reduction into urban development, spatial planning, and service delivery through presentations and group sessions.
