Vir jare was die pannekoekwaentjie in Dorpstraat reg oorkant Pietersburg Laerskool, 'n bekende en geliefde gesig.
Hier kon mense daagliks tussen 09:00 en 15:00 vars pannekoek, javels, worsrolle en in die winter selfs kerrie-en-rys koop. Die afgelope ses maande is die waentjie egter afwesig, en ouers, personeel, leerders en die gemeenskap het gewonder wat aangaan.
Die eienaar van die waentjie, Peet Venter, beter bekend as Oom Peet Pannekoek, het besluit om dit finaal te sluit nadat hy twee rugoperasies moes ondergaan.
