Turning sweet potatoes into success

Polokwane Observer

|

August 28, 2025

Local entrepreneur Edward Kgarose (35) has discovered an innovative niche in the dairy industry - sweet potato-flavoured drinking yoghurt.

- Anne Mametja

Since launching his factory in 2016, Kgarose has been producing and distributing this unique yoghurt across select supermarkets in the province.

"My dream is to grow the business into a large-scale operation. I've had interest from business owners in countries like Nigeria, Uganda and Canada who see the product as something new, unique, and healthy," Kgarose told Polokwane Observer.
