The two male bodies found along Kuschke's gravel road (D1377) have been positively identified by their families, but their killers remain at large.

Investigating officer Col Richard Boshomane confirmed that police investigations are ongoing, after provincial police commissioner Lt Gen Thembi Hadebe ordered that a recent series of such murders be transferred to the provincial murder and robbery unit to ensure what law enforcement calls a "coordinated and thorough investigation".
