LEDET building renovations progress
Polokwane Observer
|July 24, 2025
Roughly 60% of the work on the Ledet building in the city has been completed, while nearly half of the project budget has already been spent. According to Public Works spokesperson Tendani Munyai, around R17m of the R37.4m budget has been used so far. The renovations, which started in April 2023, are expected to be finished by November this year.
The building on the corner of Suid and Dorp streets was previously declared unsafe, with issues such as leaking ceilings, broken windows and non-functioning toilets.
