You decide: £600k project budget in hands of tenants

Tenants across Renfrewshire are being asked to share ideas on ways to improve their local area as part of a new six-figure fund.

The YouDecide Tenants fund will see £600,000 spent over the next three years on projects which have been put forward by residents and voted on by tenants.

Its aim will be for people living in council housing areas to have the chance to spend a local authority budget on where they know it's needed. The fund will be split across the next three financial years with £150,000 earmarked for year one (2025-2026); £250,000 for year two (2026-2027); and £200,000 for year three (2027-2028).

Spending each year will be spread evenly across all council housing areas in Renfrewshire.

A range of projects can be covered such as new benches and planters, environmental improvements, fencing, gates and additional lighting.

YouDecide Tenants has been designed in collaboration with the tenants' scrutiny panel - a group of tenants who work with the council to help inform policy development.
