St Mirren women's coach on epic trek

The coach of St Mirren FC’s women’s team and a group of determined friends have conquered the mammoth Abbeys Way walk in a bid to raise money for the team and associated girls academy.

Kate Cooper, along with Alan Dougan, Rebecca Dougan, Eliana Jaconelli and Eva Penaranda set out with the task of covering the 68-mile trek down the Scottish Borders in six days, where they passed through Bedrule, Clintmains, Denholm, Dryburgh, Hawick, Jedburgh, Kelso, Makerstoun, Melrose, Newtown St Boswells and Tweedbank.

Abbeys Way is a route linking the four great ruined abbeys across the region in Kelso, Jedburgh, Melrose and Dryburgh.
