Travel agents in town to visit our tourist hotspots

A team of international travel agents were welcomed to Paisley this month as part of an on-going mission to turn the town into a tourism hot spot.

The delegation was introduced to all Paisley has to offer by the recently formed community interest company Paisley Tours, which intends to big up the town's business, history, and culture to visitors from across the world.

Paisley Tours will act as a kind of tourism board for the town, while also offering its own walking tours. They will work alongside the likes of Sma' Shot Cottages and Renfrewshire Witch Hunt 1697 to promote the town.

It's a development from Gavin Divers and the team at the Paisley Heritage Facebook page, which has been wowing social media users with facts about the town for more than 11 years now.

On Sunday, they welcomed 11 international travel agents for what is known in the industry as a "familiarisation trip".

Gavin told the Express: "The preparation has been like an Olympic sport, we've been going round with a whiteboard, marking down this is three minutes here, three minutes there, all round town.
