Thug threatened to stab takeaway owner over cash demands

A Renfrew thug threatened to stab and kill a takeaway owner if he didn't give him £20.

Out-of-control Robbie Peacock demanded the owner of Sherwood takeaway, in Renfrew's Hairst Street, hand over the cash and warned he was going to “stab him” and “kill him” if he didn't.

A terrified young staff member managed to call cops to attend on January 13, by dialling 999, and when officers searched the 25-year-old lout, they found a 3.5-inch knife in his jacket pocket.

Procurator fiscal depute Abi McKenna yesterday told Paisley Sheriff Court that Peacock is known to staff at the takeaway as a “regular customer but also as someone who causes problems within the premises”.

She explained: “Around 10.15pm on Monday, January 13, the accused entered the Sherwood takeaway and demanded to speak to the owner who was within the back of the shop.
