Over £140k earmarked for community initiatives

- JACK THOMSON, LOCAL DEMOCRACY REPORTER

Sustainable projects receive council funds

More than £140,000 in funding will be distributed to organisations for sustainable community projects after the move was given the green light.

Renfrewshire Council will allocate grants to Life Church (£100,000, subject to conditions), Active Communities (£31,878.91) and Renfrew Association of Growers and Gardeners (£8,769).

It comes after they made applications to the sustainable communities fund which aims to support infrastructure and place-based projects across Renfrewshire that improve people's lives and build resilient communities.

Three types of awards are available through the process, including small (up to £9,999), intermediate (£10,000 to £24,999) and large (£25,000 to £100,000) amounts.
