These days, it is actually good to get some good news out there and let people know what is happening in the real world - or facts as we call them.

- BY GEORGE BY PAISLEY MSP GEORGE ADAM

I'm sure that, when social media started to get a grip and this new way of communicating became established, you, like me, found it interesting, positive and, in some cases, a bit exciting.

Today, it is less so. We have to be very careful what we look at, digest and take at face value.

In fact, after reading some information the task is then to do research to confirm what we have actually seen or read.

So, in that vein, let's start with good news. Good news that can be backed up by visiting the Scottish Government website and backed up by Public Health Scotland figures and reports.

NHS waiting times are down in Scotland. Yes, you may be slightly confused as you are probably seeing reports that say something different.

Something that may astound you is that waiting times are up in England.
