Primary school 'on a roll' as it wins praise for motivating pupils

Renfrewshire Council has paid tribute to a Paisley primary school and nursery for their “hard work” after they received an impressive inspection report.

Elected members and a top official commended Mossvale Primary School and early learning and childcare class (ELCC) at a meeting of the education and children’s services policy board for their performance.

A team of Education Scotland inspectors visited the facility in Gockston Road in January and talked to parents, carers and children while working closely with the head teacher and other members of staff.

The primary school was graded very good for learning, teaching and assessment and good for raising attainment and achievement, while the nursery class was very good for learning, teaching and assessment as well as for securing children’s progress.

Councillor Emma Rodden, board convener, said: “We have another very, very positive inspection - I cannot believe the roll we're on.
