It is just over six weeks until the Scottish Election and this will be my last column until after we have gone to the polls.

- BY WEST SCOTLAND MSP NEIL BIBBY

Platform to stand up for Paisley

Proud Buddie Neil Bibby MSP is the Labour candidate for Paisley

I'd like to thank the Paisley Daily Express, essentially for two things.

One - just for being here. We need a local paper like this, one that reports what is happening on our streets and in the committee rooms, a feisty local champion standing up for local people, local causes and our communities.

And, of course, I am grateful for the chance every other week to champion those same local people, local causes and local communities in these pages.

The opportunity to tell you how much I love our town and how hard I will always fight for us.

This paper has given me the chance to stand up for Paisley.

To save vital local health and social care services. To demand action from the Scottish Government on road safety.
