Opening date set for River Clyde's first road bridge

The Renfrew Bridge - the first opening road bridge across the River Clyde - will open to members of the public next month, it has been confirmed.

The 184-metre twin-leaf bridge, connecting the town's Meadowside Street with Dock Street in Yoker, has been given an opening date of Friday, May 9.

The route, which represents a focal part of the £117 million Clyde Waterfront and Renfrew Riverside project, provides a two-lane crossing for vehicles, pedestrians and active travellers and can open for passing ships.

It will also create additional connecting active travel and road links from Yoker Railway Station to Renfrew town centre, as well as on to the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland (AMIDS) Scotland's home of manufacturing innovation.
