Women's coach Cooper praises “winning mentality” of squad

St Mirren Women's strong mentality came to the fore as they battled from behind twice to beat Hutchison Vale.

Head Coach Kate Cooper expressed her delight in seeing her side pick up their first win of the Barclays League One campaign after an epic 3-2 victory in Edinburgh.

Kaitlyn Irvine and Becca Kelly were on target either side of an own goal to ensure the Buddies would leave with all three points.

Now Cooper hopes her squad will be inspired to greater things after showing bags of resilience when it mattered most.

“We just felt in the first half we were trying to force it too much,” she told the Express.
