Energy companies have been accused of being "stuck in the slow lane" when it comes to the replacement of radio teleswitch (RTS) meters.

Following a freedom of information request to regulator Ofgem by the Scottish Liberal Democrats, it has been revealed that - across Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire - a total of 1,769 have still to be replaced.

Broken down, the figure is 1,365 in Renfrewshire and 404 in East Renfrewshire.
