Defender's dramatic stoppage-time strike seals Pittodrie point and ends losing streak

LAST-GASP KING IS A SAVIOUR AS SAINTS STOP ROT

Joy for the Jamaican King savours his strike with Gogic

St Mirren snatched a precious point at Pittodrie last night thanks to supersub Richard King.

The Buddies were staring at a seventh defeat in eight Premiership games before the Jamaican international rode to his side's rescue.

After drawing a blank in the first half, Saints and Aberdeen — the division's lowest scorers before kickoff — shared six goals in the second period.

Dante Polvara and Marko Lazetic wiped out Marcus Fraser's penalty opener.

Jonah Ayunga made it 2-2 but Lazetic looked to have won it for the Dons until King popped up.

Saints remain in 11th place but have now moved three points clear of Livingston ahead of Saturday's visit of Dundee United.

Buddies boss Stephen Robinson made three changes to the team which lost 3-1 to Dundee.

Injury ruled out Declan John, so Scott Tanser returned to the left wing-back role while Fraser Taylor and Ayunga replaced Conor McMenamin and Dan Nlundulu.
