Nancy Glaister was living proof that it is never too late to learn.

The active pensioner had just taken her Higher Grade Biology exam, we revealed in June 1988.

She was just one of 48 adults taking O Levels and Highers and non-vocational classes at St Cuthbert’s High, in Johnstone.

Mrs Glaister, of Tandlehill Road, Kilbarchan, returned to school a few years previously when she decided to take an O Level in Biology.
