I came to Scotland in 2022 to escape the war in Ukraine but my leave to remain will be coming to an end soon. What do I need to do to continue living in Scotland?

After Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, thousands of people left Ukraine to find a safe haven overseas. Over 200,000 people came to the UK under a number of UK Government programmes including the Ukraine Family Scheme, Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme and the Ukraine Extension Scheme.
As the war has continued and with no immediate end to the war in sight, many Ukrainian families are coming to the end of their fixed leave to remain in the UK.
Ukrainian people who are in the UK under one of the official schemes can now secure their residence for a further 18 months.
The Ukraine Permission Extension Scheme is now up and running allowing Ukrainian residents to apply, free of charge, for an extension of their leave to remain. The basic conditions are:
• You are resident in the UK, under the Ukraine Family Scheme, Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme (Homes for Ukraine) or Ukraine Extension Scheme;
• You are in the UK at the time you apply;
• You apply at the right time - you must make your application within 28 days of your leave to remain expiring - if you apply too early, your application will be rejected and;
