Ferguslie champing at the bit to return to action after eight months

First X1 have got plenty of practice under their belts before pre-season friendlies

The long wait is hopefully over for Ferguslie Cricket Club fans as the first X1 is finally set to get underway after an eight month layoff.

The club will travel to Edinburgh South Cricket Club tomorrow (Saturday) for the first of two pre-season friendly matches.

"The boys are champing at the bit to get into action," said cricket convener Haroon Tahir, who will also feature again in the first X1.

"We've managed to get a lot of indoor practice under our belts, but there's nothing quite like getting on to the field to get the juices flowing again after such a long closed season.

"We've been practising in our outdoor nets too for the last couple of weeks, where the turnout of new and old players has been very encouraging.
