Drug dealer caught out by the smell of cannabis

An Erskine drug dealer's house was raided after cops found cannabis in his car.

David Currie caught the attention of police on Paisley's Greenock road when he accelerated away from a green light.

The 31-year-old was pulled over and, when officers approached to speak to him, they could smell a strong stench of the Class B drug coming from the motor.

A search of Currie's car resulted in 22g of cannabis being found. A further search of his High Parksail home resulted in a further 110g of cannabis being discovered.

Procurator fiscal depute Karen Yuill told Paisley Sheriff Court: "Around 11.40am on February 22, police officers were carrying out uniformed mobile patrol in a marked police vehicle.
